RIMC Entrance Exam

RIMC Dehradun has been founded with the objectives of providing the necessary prefatory training to the Indian students. Those who wish to become officers in the Indian Armed Forces are required to qualify in the UPSC competitive written examination and the Services Selection Board Interview.  RIMC aims to send maximum cadets to the NDA/NA. Hence, ORC Academy stresses on complete education and all-round personality development of the aspirants. ORC also renders education on the lines of residential public schools for the candidates who dream to get through not only RIMC entrance exam but also Sainik School and Rashtriya Military school. Moreover, ORC Academy Chandigarh also offers a unique Foundation Programme that focuses on strengthening the student’s conceptual clarity of the fundamentals in Mathematics, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Reasoning and English. ORC’s dedicated team aims at sending all ORC enrolled students to the Indian Armed Forces. In the recent past, the academy has registered several fountainheads headed results.

RIMC has a fully residential programme for a period of five years from class VIII to XII. It follows the pattern of the CBSE. It is organized to function in two six monthly academic terms in each calendar year.

First Term: 17 January to 31 May
Second Term: 17 July to 30 November

1.The vacancies in RIMC: For admission into the College, only 25 Cadets(boys) are selected on the basis of their performance in an All-India Examination held twice a year. Generally, one vacancy per state is reserved for the candidates. However, the states like UP, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu West Bengal and Maharashtra which have large size, have up to 2 vacancies. 
2.The age criteria for RIMC: The candidates should not be less than 111/2 years of age or must not have attained the age of 13 years on 01 (Jan) and 01 (July) of the term they join. Admissions are made to Class VIII only. The Candidate must be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognized school at the time of joining. 
3. The application form for RIMC: The Application forms need to be obtained offline form RIMC Dehradun. They are to be submitted to respective State governments of which their parents/guardians are domiciled on or before March 31, 2019. The Application forms can also be obtained offline form ORC Academy Chandigarh. 

 

 


  1. Candidates are short listed on the basis of their performance in an All-India Entrance Examination held twice a year comprising a written examination consisting of test papers in: 
    English (125 marks),
    Mathematics (200 marks
    General Knowledge (75 marks)
    5. To qualify, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50 % Marks in each subject. The successful candidates are called for Viva – Voce test (50 marks) which is designed to assess the candidate’s intelligence, personality and confidence.
  2. A merit list is prepared and those who qualify are sent for medical examinations. Those finally cleared this level are invited to join RIMC Dehradun.

ORC and its brilliant team sharpen the RIMC aspirant candidates for the Mathematics test in Hindi as well as English Medium. General Knowledge is taught thoroughly along with special sessions of Current affairs. The team trains the candidates to have a good command of the English Language particularly in writing skills i.e., essay writing, letter writing, story writing and picture composition.

A perspicacious team from Indian Defence works on the personality part of the RIMC aspirants to ensure the selection in the Viva Voce test.
