Railway Competitive Examinations In India Indian Railways is the second largest railway system in the world. Its employees are numbered at about 16 lakhs. Indian Railways is divided into 16 zones and each zone is headed by a General Manager. Every zone is divided into some divisions and each division is headed by a Divisional Railway Manager. The posts in railways are divided into four groups. They are:

  • Group D

Entry into the Group A posts is done through the Civil Services Examination and Combined Engineering Services examination. These examinations are conducted every year

RRB Eligibility

The age limit for general exam is between 18 and 30 years, a bachelor's degree in any field and good computer typing skills in English and Hindi. Whereas, in case of technical hiring, the age limit is up to 33 years, 10+2 with physics and math or a degree in computer networking.


Railway Exam Pattern

Recruitment Examination 2017 will comprise of 100 Questions. There will be 4 sections with variable number of questions. Those sections are as follows:

  • Arithmetic Ability
  • Reasoning & General Intelligence
  • General Awareness
  • General Science

Exam duration for the exam has been set as 90 minutes. Follow the below given table to understand the number of questions allotted to each section and corresponding marks that each subject carry.
